Pharmacy systems

Assessment of pharmacy systems in selected countries - Identification of literature and experiences

In recent years, community pharmacy systems in many countries have undergone some degree of structural changes due to country-specific changes in regulations. As a result, a wider spectrum of community pharmacy systems exists, and it has become interesting for many countries to collect knowledge about the performance of structurally different systems.

The aim of the present study was to identify scientific as well as “grey” literature evaluating community pharmacy systems and to collect personal experiences with the performance of community pharmacy systems. The aim was to identify evaluations in a broad sense, and, hereby, provide a preliminary mapping of the available literature that can form the basis for more analytical studies in the future. A number of European countries and English-speaking countries contributed to the study.
