WHO Collaborating Centre for Drug Policy and Pharmacy Practice Development, Pharmakon, has prepared evidence-based reports with conclusions within several areas of pharmacy practice. These reports are frequently updated with new references, and the conclusions are reviewed.

In 2001, the Danish Pharmaceutical Association established an evidence database for community pharmacy. The Evidence Database has been developed and is maintained by Pharmakon, Danish College of Pharmacy Practice, for the Danish Pharmaceutical Association. The database contains evaluated intervention studies in community pharmacy practice on clinical, humanistic and economic outcomes.
The aim of the database is to ensure that the pharmacy sector has continuous access to updated knowledge of the impact of pharmacy practice in society.
The database is mainly based on European literature (from 1990) and supplemented with international literature of significance. Each of the reports contains a summary chapter on the evidence for each of the following outcome measures: Clinical and health-related indicators; economic analyses; satisfaction; knowledge/attitude/practice; drug-related problems; drug use, and; process indicators.
In the Observatory, you find translated summaries of the reports.
Users are welcome to add references or comment on conclusions.
The datasheets in the base are in Danish, and the majority of the summaries have been translated into English. All datasheets are included in the searchable, electronic version of the Evidence Database on www.pharmakon.dk under the heading 'Apotek og Primær Sundhedssektor, Dokumentationsdatabase', and via the homepage of the Danish Pharmaceutical Association, www.apotekerforeningen.dk, under the heading 'Forskning i apotekspraksis'.
subject, a summary of the findings and a reference list are included. The subjects are updated on a regular basis.
